For U.S. Tesla drivers & businesses
Your Tesla logs the miles. We make them IRS-proof.
Odoproof captures every trip from your Tesla and classifies it business or personal — a contemporaneous, IRS-ready mileage log that stands up to an audit. No paper logbook, no spreadsheet.
- Automatic trip capture
- IRS-ready records
- No paper logbook
Unlogged miles are lost money — or an audit risk
The IRS treats a vehicle as “listed property”: without adequate, contemporaneous records, your deductions can be disallowed entirely. Reconstructing a year of trips from memory doesn't hold up, and company-car personal use that isn't tracked becomes taxable wages.
- •Estimated or year-end logs are rejected under IRC §274(d).
- •Every untracked business mile is a deduction you never claim.
- •Company-car personal use is a taxable fringe benefit on your W-2.

IRS Mileage Log Rules for Tesla Drivers: Business vs. Personal Use (2026)
Yes. The IRS mileage-log obligation applies fully to a battery-electric Tesla. Under IRC §274(d), every vehicle is "listed property," so no car deduction or depreciation is allowed unless you keep adequate, contemporaneous records proving the business-vs-personal split. These substantiation rules and the standard mileage rate are fuel-neutral — the IRS makes no distinction by drivetrain, so an EV is treated exactly like a gas or diesel car.
Odoproof vs. doing it by hand

Illustrative examples — not real customer reviews.
“I stopped keeping a shoebox of notes. My mileage log is just done.”
